\n When choosing a rose<\/a> or a handle with a rose, you always meet the abbreviations PZ, BB and WC. They are not optional \u2014 they tell you exactly which type of lock fits your door. Pick the wrong code, and the rose will not match the lock.\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    What these codes are<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    PZ, BB and WC describe the type of opening<\/strong> in the lower rose (the one on the lock). Each lock type needs a rose that matches what comes out of it: a cylinder, a key or a thumb-turn.<\/p>\n

    In practice, the code tells you what the rose faces when you put it on the door. So when you order a complete set, you choose the handle, the finish and the function of the rose<\/strong> (PZ, BB or WC).<\/p>\n

    The upper rose (the one the handle sits on) is the same for all \u2014 only the lower rose differs, matching the lock.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

    PZ \u2014 rose for a cylinder<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    PZ<\/strong> comes from \"profile cylinder\" \u2014 the euro cylinder<\/strong> with the pin-tumbler key that most modern interior doors and entrance doors use. The PZ rose has an oval opening, shaped exactly like the cylinder.<\/p>\n

    Choose PZ if your door locks with a cylinder-type key (the thin key with teeth along one edge). It is the most common option for lockable interior doors.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    BB \u2014 rose for a classic key<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    BB<\/strong> comes from \"Buntbart\" \u2014 the classic bit key (the old key with a single wide tooth). The BB rose has a round hole with a small slot at the bottom for the key bit.<\/p>\n

    Choose BB for older doors or those with a simple lock and a classic key, without a cylinder.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    WC \u2014 rose for bathrooms<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n

    WC<\/strong> is the rose for bathroom or toilet doors. Instead of a key it has a locking thumb-turn<\/strong> on the inside (turn it to lock) and an emergency release slot<\/strong> on the outside, which you can open with a coin or a screwdriver in an emergency.<\/p>\n

    Choose WC for any bathroom, toilet or dressing-room door \u2014 anywhere you want to lock yourself in without a key.<\/p>\n

    On Enger<\/a>roses, the WC version includes the thumb-turn and the emergency slot, in a finish matching the handle.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n
